Robert McIntyre, Q.C.

Bob McIntyre is an associate who joined the firm in 1990 as corporate counsel and is part of our Business Law and Estate Planning Practice Groups. Bob was called to the Bar in 1966, received his LL.M., in 1967 (University of London, England), and was appointed as Queen's Counsel in 1979.

Bob practices in the areas of business law, employment law, and wills and estates. He has worked not only as outside corporate counsel to many small and medium sized corporations but also more recently a three year term as managing director and inside corporate counsel of a major $20,000,000 plus start up phyto-pharmaceutical subsidiary of a multinational Swiss Corporation.

Bob drafts and reviews all types of business agreements. His management background has further developed his negotiating skills in areas of administration, major contracts, and arranging of financing.

Bob has always taken a "hands on" approach in acting on behalf of his corporate clients. What the business client perceives as a strictly legal problem may well be a business problem that has legal issues. Bob seeks timely business and legal solutions. He has been referred to as a "Businessmen's Lawyer" and has been recognized in nine varied "Who's Who" publications.

Bob also practices in the areas of estate planning and administration, including preparation of wills and powers of attorney.

Bob has a distinguished history of community involvement, usually as president or director, in over 17 not-for-profit organisations. These organisations include the Brampton Board of Trade, Rotary Club of Brampton, Brampton and District Branch of the CDA, Ontario Society for Crippled Children, Brampton Industrial Association, and Peel Memorial Hospital.

Bob's service involvement has led to prestigious awards from the Brampton Rotary Club, Canadian Diabetes Association, City of Brampton, and the University of Western Ontario.
